One of the best “new” services I discovered this year has been Welcome Pickups, the scheduled ground transportation platform company. It is a marketplace company, as in it connects to local car services and drivers, I have used it about a dozen times in the last few months around the world, Bangkok, Casablanca, Delhi etc and have always had a friendly, polite driver and a great clean car, usually larger than usual Ubers, costs a bit more than Uber/Lyft but more reliable and better. The app is very intuitive and very modern. I have no connection to the company, just figured worth a shoutout for an excellent utility service, that is rare these days. I would be surprised if it doesn’t get bought by a larger company soon.
