My habit: a nightly 2-minute “identity check.” Before bed I jot one action that proved I am the kind of person obsessed with the specific goal I'm pursuing and one distraction I’ll cut tomorrow. When the work becomes part of who you are, willpower is replaced by congruence—making consistency feel like integrity rather than discipline, and the daily subtraction keeps my calendar—and mind—clear enough for that obsession to stay sharp (obsession spotlights everything irrelevant, making “not now” decisions easier and freeing bandwidth for recovery rituals that keep the whole engine sustainable)

Great insight! Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the power of silence—not as absence, but as presence. In high-stakes conversations, it’s often the pause that shifts the dynamic. In decision-making, it’s the quiet space that brings clarity. As a leader and coach, I’ve seen how embracing silence can create room for deeper thinking, better questions, and stronger outcomes.
