We held our 13th AGM last Thursday. At the heart of these shifts are people - and the evolving nature of work that lies ahead. In this context, the significance of AIWM and its role becomes even more pronounced. To chart the future of independent wealth, the future of AIWM in this complex landscape, together, let us focus on three areas: 1. Alignment To grow the Association from strength to strength, everyone must play a role in this shared ecosystem. We urge our members to refer and share your member experience with your networks - the connections you’ve made, the insights you’ve gained, the resources you use - so others can benefit and be inspired to join this growing community. 2. Foster a culture of risk management Now more than ever, in an environment defined by uncertainty, maintaining a strong risk management culture is essential to creating long-term value for our clients and mitigating unintended consequences. As we continue to pursue excellence in our service, it is vital that we regularly review our enterprise-wide risk management frameworks, conduct governance audits, and proactively address any gaps in AML, CFT, and PF. These ongoing efforts not only uphold the highest standards of professionalism and reliability within the industry but also reinforce Singapore’s position as a safe and trusted wealth management hub. 3. Education We remain committed to equipping our members with the skills and insights needed to stay relevant, responsive, and as trusted stewards of clients’ assets. Training will continue to be a core pillar in supporting the industry’s growth. As the independent wealth sector matures, the need for a unified framework and professional standards has strengthened considerably. The AIWM certification program provides a clear path for professional development, ensuring practitioners are well-equipped to excel and uphold the reputation and credibility of their firms.
