CMMC doesn’t have to be scary. I talk with executives all the time who feel buried under acronyms, audits, and requirements—especially when it comes to protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Here's the truth: most CMMC resources out there aren’t written for business leaders, they’re written for auditors. That’s why we created The Executive’s Guide to CMMC Compliance. It breaks things down in plain language, shows what really matters when it comes to file sharing and CUI, and helps you feel confident about the path forward. If you’re leading a team, a business unit, or an entire company and CMMC is on your radar, this guide was written with you in mind.
CMMC is here—and the first deadline is November 10, 2025. Our Executive’s Guide to CMMC Compliance explains what leaders really need to know: how to protect CUI, avoid contract risk, and make compliance approachable before the clock runs out.

"CMMC: Without executive buy-in, you're just one breach away from a big 'oops!'" Cybersecurity should be a core part of a company’s culture, starting with executive buy-in. When leaders prioritize security, it sets the tone for the entire organization. Cybersecurity is everyone’s responsibility, not just the IT team’s. Employees must understand their roles, from spotting phishing attempts to following best practices. By fostering a culture of shared accountability, companies can strengthen their defenses and create a more secure environment for growth.

Tips on Building an Effective Audit Checklist ------------------ It’s a common feeling. Often, it’s because we're using a generic template that only scratches the surface. It can confirm if a document exists, but it doesn't tell you if a process is actually working in the real world. Starting with a generic checklist is perfectly fine—it's a great way to cover the basics. But to make it truly effective, the next step is crucial: you need to customize it. The risks in your Sales department are completely different from those in Procurement, and your checklist should reflect that. By tailoring your questions to the specific function you’re auditing, you move beyond box-ticking and start uncovering real insights. So, here’s a thought for discussion: What’s one key question you would customize when auditing a Sales vs. a Procurement team? Ready to put this into practice? If you need assistance with this, I'm here to help. I have helped both companies and Certification Bodies in conducting highly effective audits. ➡️ Join my training course or contact me for a consultation.
