Its our pleasure at BFL Group to announce the successful go-live of Oracle SaaS Merchandise Financial Planning Solution and leveraging Oracle Retail AI Foundation and Innovation Workbench to customize an off-price version of our PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), which we call OMT (Offer Management Tool) At BFL Group we started the journey earlier this year (2025) with the objective of implementing a demand planning solution to meet off-price requirements, which is when we selected Oracle MFP (Merchandise Financial Planning) We decided to go solo with a team of in-house experts. The SaaS version of MFP on RAP (Retail Analytics Platform) was new to us, the team learnt the platform, extensibility on the AIF (Retail AI Foundation), and IW (Innovation Workbench) with some amazing support by the Oracle Team (Kimberley Fairhurst, Jimmy Kleopa, Kalyan Krishnan and the AMS, Product and Dev Teams). In less than 6 months, we did the implementation and also leveraged the Oracle RPAS (Retail Predictive Application Cloud Services and APEX - Application Express which is Oracle's Low Code Platform) to build our off-price version of a product lifecycle management tool (which we call OMT - Offer Management Tool) that is used to integrate offers/deals coming from suppliers to evaluate (based on past performance of similar offers) and generate a counter-offer. In the subsequent phases we plan to integrate OMT with MFCS to automate the PO creation In this journey we had our fair share of challenges, like data quality, performance issues, understanding and provisioning our environments on cloud, integration and business change management, but we are thankful to all the stakeholders for being with us, and supporting, leading and guiding us on this transformation journey Big kudos to Abhijit kundu (who led this implementation from the front, having done multiple on-prem MFP, AP and IP implementations), and ably supported by Aakruti Gaur (who came from Android development background, learnt MFP and the technology and delivered) My sincere thanks to Sheeja Varghese, IT Director at BFL, who supported with her extensive experience of BFL processes and legacy systems knowledge to the team, along with her team, and Santosh Krishnamurthy (who leads our Data and BI on Google BigQuery and have been instrumental in bringing in historical performance data into MFP), with architecture support from Jai Trivedi Many thanks to our CEO, Ayman Beydoun for his vision and strategic direction on building our planning excellence, along with our HOD's Rupesh Sonawane and Juan Vega Sharaz Nawaz - MBA - Business Analytics, CMI UK and our buying and planning teams (priya jan) to believe in us, and adopting the systems and the changes it brings to seamlessly integrate planning and buying #OracleRetail, #MerchandisePlanning, #RetailAI, #RPAS
