Citadel, Point72, Schonfeld, and LMR Partners are seeing stronger returns in their smaller, more focused hedge fund strategies in 2025, outperforming their flagship multistrategy funds. Citadel’s Tactical Trading Fund is up 10.4% year-to-date, more than double the 5% return of its Wellington flagship. Point72’s AI-focused Turion Fund is up over 18%, while its main fund trails below 10%. Schonfeld’s equities-only strategy returned 10%, beating its flagship’s 7.1%. LMR’s convertibles and capital structure arbitrage fund surged 25% YTD, compared to 7.3% for its multistrategy offering.
