We invite you to read our a new article: “Demystifying Generative AI for the Modern Juror.” As generative AI becomes central to more litigation, one of the biggest challenges is explaining its inner mechanics and legal implications to non-technical audiences. In this piece, we discuss how attorneys can make AI concepts accessible to jurors, especially in cases involving fair use, copyright, and model training disputes. Key takeaways include: • Why must jurors view AI systems as pattern-recognizers, not sentient decision-makers? • How “chunking” technical ideas into digestible sections supports comprehension. • Why are consistent narrative metaphors and aligned visuals essential during trial? This is worth reading if your firm handles AI-related litigation or wants to improve technical storytelling in the courtroom. FUTURE DISPUTE RESOLUTION Today I had the privilege of speaking with Linda Beyea Jennifer Leonard Jacqueline Schafer and Hugh Carlson on the “Leading AI Transformation in Legal Practice” panel at the third Future Dispute Resolution Conference hosted by the American Arbitration Association. This is the third iteration of the conference, co-created with Stanford and System.Legal *Learning how to THRIVE in this era requires a deep understanding of the pitfalls of AI deployment in enterprise generally and legal specifically. Thus, I introduced five common pitfalls from THE FAILSCAPE: 1. “Pretension is all you need”. 2. The Fair Use Basilisk (FDR Series on Autonomous Systems) https://lnkd.in/eRamtQdk 3. “Omnicide” 4. “The Vibe Cobra” 5. “The Botched Lobotomy”. These are in addition to a myriad of technical limitations and successes for legal enterprise of the most advanced LLMs. Hopefully our chat was entertaining enough to be useful-memorable.
