So that's where the valleys of death and hills of happiness came from... It was an excellent metaphor for the TF participant journey. I remember (I think) seeing your wife and baby son at a Teach First picnic with a 2028 Cohort baby grow on or similar so to think that he's now 17 and recommending steak places does hammer home how much time has passed and the legacy that you've created with TF inthat period.

Great motto, Brett. I still remember your “valleys and hills” speech from a Chotam summer training opening session many moons ago.

I often reference your valleys of death, hills of happiness (and if I remember rightly there was also a meadow of despair). A brilliant metaphor for the TF journey and for leadership. Great article. 😊

Loved reading this - and what a joy it is to have crossed paths in both Teach First and Founders Pledge world. The world needs more Brett’s that make following their values their lifes work!

Great article. I have such great memories of being on the TF advisory board in the founding years. My granddaughter is now being taught by a Teach First alumna
