Two frights in one day and both straight out of an editor’s worst nightmare. From visuals that look convincing but aren’t, to text that reads perfectly yet feels eerily soulless, AI-generated content can quietly distort the research record. Paperpal Preflight for Editorial Desk detects both synthetic images and machine-written text before they even reach peer review, helping journals preserve originality and authenticity. Whether it’s pixels or prose, data shouldn’t wear a disguise. #ResearchIntegrity #EditorialExcellence #PeerReview #AcademicPublishing #HalloweenCountdown #IntegrityChecks #Halloween

💬 Kicking off the Science Writer Programme 2025! Last week, we held our first workshop session — Science Communication for Different Audiences — led by Natasha Barrow and Caroline Babisz. 🧠 Participants explored how to adapt scientific messages for specialised and non-specialised audiences, from researchers and founders to the wider public. 🗣️ Through examples and hands-on writing exercises, they practised turning complex ideas into clear, engaging stories while keeping accuracy and impact at the core. Next up: Storytelling through Science Illustration and Animation with Irina Titkova 🎨 #ScienceCommunication #ScienceWriterProgramme

For Ozone.bg, we developed a cinematic demo trailer for a new book release. The project was designed to showcase how storytelling and film-style editing can be applied to literature promotion. Although the demo was not officially approved, the ad highlights our creative approach and ability to deliver short, impactful trailers that bring books to life. • Objective: Present a book as a cinematic experience and demonstrate the potential of film-style advertising in publishing. • Result: A professional concept trailer that reflects MikMedia’s creative versatility and ability to adapt to different industries.

#BlogWriting is a little bit similar to directing a movie. You need to have a catchy entry scene or the introduction of your content to seize the attention of your audience. Then, the middle part is descriptive, giving you enough room to build an idea in the audience's mind. The conclusion or the ending needs to be as gripping as the introduction or the opening scene. #CreativeThoughts #CreativeWriting #ArticleWriting #YouGottaLoveYourWork

Behind the Scenes: What It Really Takes to Research Complex Content? After years of diving deep into the digital archives for YouTube creators and books, I've learned that exceptional script research isn't just about finding information; it's about uncovering the stories others miss. Case in Point: My Ted Bundy Research Project While most researchers stop at Wikipedia and surface-level documentaries, I went 15 years deep across four jurisdictions (Washington, Utah, Colorado, and Florida) to piece together comprehensive court proceedings footage that spans from 1974-1989. What sets professional research apart: Multi-source verification - I don't rely on single sources. For Bundy's case YouTube research alone, I cross-referenced Court TV Archives, Investigation Discovery, A&E Crime Central, 48 Hours CBS, and local news stations like WPLG and WFLA. Chronological precision: Every piece of footage is dated and categorized (pre-trial hearings, trial proceedings, sentencing) to ensure narrative accuracy. Hidden archive access: While others search Google, I tap into specialized databases, local news archives, and broadcast collections that require insider knowledge to navigate. Complex case mapping: Multi-jurisdictional cases like Bundy's require understanding legal transfers, varying state procedures, and how different courts documented proceedings. The result? Content creators get research that transforms ordinary scripts into compelling narratives backed by rare, authentic footage and previously overlooked details. This is what 6+ years in professional research looks like; not just finding information, but finding the RIGHT information that makes content stand out in a saturated market. Currently accepting new projects for Q4 2025. DM me if your content deserves research that goes beyond the surface. #YouTubeResearch #ContentResearch #ScriptWriting #DigitalArchives #ProfessionalResearch

Copying Hormozi won’t make you viral. I hear this all the time: “Make it look like Hormozi’s edits.” But here’s the problem: his editing only works because it *matches* his content and delivery. Put those edits on a weak script? Dead on arrival. Every creator is unique. That’s why great editors don’t copy — they *design editing styles* around the brand’s story. The style isn’t the magic. The alignment is. Desi Media Lab

We have to call this out again because it is still happening far too often on social media: businesses using the work of others without credit. Artists, writers, designers and creators spend years building their craft and reputation. To use their work commercially without acknowledgement is not just immoral; it is illegal. Yes, social media is vast, and the odds of “getting caught” may feel low. But it’s not about whether you get away with it. It’s about respect for the creators and for your own business integrity. If you do not have the time or skill to create content, there are professionals who can. Engaging local artists, writers, and marketers not only protects you, it also strengthens your community. Original work builds trust. Copying destroys it. The choice is yours. #copyright #supportlocalartists #plagiarism #values #integrity #marketing #perthbusiness

One of the most common questions I get - from actors, teachers and students - is around how to write a good monologue. Monologue tasks are often given to high school students and beginner playwrights as a way to start messing around with form and the basic rules of playwriting. But a monologue is NOT just a word vomit, and it's often the editing and re-drafting process of monologue writing that can be where the work really takes place. Today on Substack, I'm sharing five super useful tools for editing a monologue - for paid subscribers (although you can always claim a free post!). #theatre #playwriting #dramateachers

Context makes the difference between no clicks and viral clicks. Here’s a quick example. I was scrolling through Substack Notes when I spotted what appeared to be a simple picture of snow. I almost scrolled past it... until I noticed the caption. The author revealed these weren’t photos at all. They were paintings. What?? I zoomed in on each image, stunned by the detail. I liked the post, left a comment, and realized I wasn’t alone. Over 5,300 others had the same reaction. That’s the power of context. Valuable content doesn’t speak for itself… you need to frame it, hook people, and show them why they can’t ignore it.
