Treated Wood Waste (TWW) include wood products treated with chemical preservatives, which once removed or discarded, are classified as toxic. With the passing of AB 332 (Committee on Environmental Safety & Toxic Materials, 2021): TWW management standards, Western Wood Preservers Institute developed the TWWDisposal.org website which holds resources on the appropriate handling, storage, labeling, transport, and disposal of treated wood waste. The website further contains educational materials for a variety of stakeholders such as homeowners, HHW collection sites, and landscapers.
