The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act, 2006, plays a pivotal role in supporting the growth and development of MSMEs in India. Recognizing the importance of these enterprises in creating jobs, fostering innovation, and driving economic growth, the Act provides a legal framework to ensure they receive the financial, technical, and structural support they need. The MSMED Act aims to enhance the global competitiveness of MSMEs, making it easier for them to access resources, build sustainable businesses, and compete in both domestic and international markets. It is closely aligned with India’s broader industrial policy and works in conjunction with the Industries (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951, to promote balanced industrial development.
