Congratulations to Senior Firefighter Michael Rucinski, who was recognized as the Groves-Walker American Legion Post 346 Firefighter of the Year during their annual Patriot Day Ceremony. Firefighter Rucinski's peers nominated him for the recognition based on his dedication and service to the community. Rucinski has been a member of the City of Farmington Hills Fire Department for nearly 13 years. He is a highly decorated firefighter who has earned four lifesaving awards. He is also vital part of the team supporting the annual fall assembly program, in which he plays a variety of super heroes. He also supports a variety of community risk reduction programs, including free smoke alarm installation. Before coming a firefighter, Rucinski was a professional hockey player with the NHL and a police officer. These accomplishments and more led to his recognition as the Groves-Walker American Legion Firefighter of the Year. 👏 Congratulations, Firefighter Rucinski!
