🎉 We kicked off the first night of our Community Academy! 🏛️ Week one included an overview of City Government, and then participants jumped right in with a mock City Council meeting. Each individual took on a different role – from mayor to council member to engaged resident – and did an amazing job. It was a fun and interactive way to learn how local government works and how decisions are made. Thanks to everyone who joined us last night! 👏 #CommunityAcademy #CivicEngagement #LocalGov #MockCouncilMeeting

I was able to participate in the Sacramento County version of this. These give a great big picture overview to those that don't participate in meetings, or those that want to get a better feel of what our local governments go through. Love this!
