This position plays a vital role in supporting the City’s legal operations and providing trusted counsel to City leadership. Under the direction of the City Attorney and Assistant City Attorney, the Deputy City Attorney I/II performs a wide range of legal work, including civil litigation, criminal prosecution, and code enforcement. The position also drafts and reviews contracts, ordinances, and other legal documents, and provides legal advice on matters involving land use, real estate, personnel, conflicts of interest, the California Public Records Act, law enforcement and public safety, and housing and economic development.
