Good leaders give real answers. Great ones get specific. Over the last few months, I’ve been in a lot of rooms with senior leaders talking about how they’ve led through change. And the answers? Solid broad responses, but they could fit any company, anywhere. “We focused on resilience.” “We empowered our people.” “We communicated clearly.” They are solid answers. But they aren’t the responses that make people lean in—until you get specific. Because specific is where people actually learn. Where they connect. Where change sticks. Take this example. A leader needs to share a message about using AI across the team. The ask was: “Let’s get curious. Understand what’s out there. Try things within guardrails.” Clear. But not specific enough. An easy way to get people to understand what you mean is to give a specific personal example - share what you are doing. 🎯 We’re using Copilot to review company policies against new legislation so we can stay up to date. We’re experimenting with this to see if how it can speed up our approach. It’s one thing to say: “We’re exploring AI.” It’s another to say: “Here’s the tool. Here’s how we’re using it. Here’s what we’ve learned (the good and the bad.” That’s what builds belief. Or take the classic: “We communicate clearly.” Lovely. But what does that look like? For me, it means: 🗺 I share the strategy 👥 We work through it as a team 🧩 We break it down and explore: What does this mean for us in our everyday? What changes in the way we work? What do we need to do differently? And get specific in the actions as well! We don’t tell people what it is. We work through it together and get specific and clear on what is different for us. So next time someone asks: “How did you lead through change?” Add the magic and get into the detail, as that’s the things people don’t see and hear every day. Get real. Get human. Get specific. That’s what people want to hear. That’s what makes change stick. #leadership #changesthatsticks #transformation #peoplefirst #specificitywins

From McKinsey & Company - https://lnkd.in/gMGuRK2B Gen AI isn’t magic. The headlines may be breathless, but most organizations haven’t yet seen fundamental change from gen AI. Why not? To get beyond the pilots and the hype—and create real value—leaders will need to rewire workflows, reskill people, and create trust in AI-driven decisions. The real payoff will come not from adopting the tool but from reshaping how work gets done around it.

AI at the forefront: Empowering automation requires strong leadership decisions, beyond just technological advancements. Kyle's perspective sheds light on the essence of AI implementation, it's a strategic leadership move. Leaders are tasked with determining the balance between automated processes, human involvement, and leveraging models to enhance decision-making. The ultimate responsibility lies with you. When approaching Business Development (BD), emphasize your value proposition not solely as a technological advancement, but also as a foundation of trust, governance, and thoughtful agent design. Within leadership roles, your initial focus should revolve around establishing clear boundaries, fostering accountability, and ensuring decision-making transparency. #AILeadership #AgenticAI #ExecutiveStrategy #DigitalTransformation #TrustArchitecture Read more: https://lnkd.in/dfTmy2aQ
