"Customer stories are better down funnel." One of the broad lies of B2B. Social proof makes really powerful ads. Check it 👇 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘐𝘯, 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦'𝘴 𝘢 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘺. 𝟭) 𝗠𝗮𝗽 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝘀 People look for themselves in customer stories. That's really it. So your video ad library of customer stories should cover your verticals evenly. (Big logos aren't everything) 𝟮) 𝗔𝘀𝗸 𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀; 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 It's easy to fall into this trap. "Make sure the story is all about the results the customer sees!" But the thing is, for ads, no one cares about results. They want to understand the product. So you need to include questions in your interview process where your customer talks about how they use the product. Then... 𝟯) 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁 We're talking ads here. Ads need to show the product. Use the footage from your customer explaining how they use your software and layer in animations of your software to illustrate their points. That's what Gong does in their ads, and it makes them really strong. OK Connor out :*
I’m with you on throwaway footage of a person using a computer. 🫠 Teaching while subtly showing off the magic of your own capabilities—textbook example of meta-marketing done right.

Thanks for sharing this, Connor, this is real value! 🙌 I love how you debunk the myth that customer stories only work at the bottom of the funnel. And focusing on how customers actually use the product and mapping stories by verticals is such a smart way to make ads truly effective! 💡
Dude I just learned so much of what I needed and I don’t even touch video editing, is this education? Thanks!
This is super good advice. Love the interview questions.
Aaah, my kind of magic! This approach is golden! The world needs more testimonials that actually get viewed. :)
