Corewell Health Facilities Team Members Unite for Community & Collaboration Community service stands at the heart of strong teams, and each of our regional facilities teams paired off to come together for the greater good of the community while forging team connections with each other. This year, we wanted to give back to our community who are also our neighbors, friends and family.   This summer, our Big Rapids, Greenville and Reed City facilities teams came together to help with the Habitat for Humanity Restore renovation in Big Rapids. The Pennock and Zeeland facilities teams partnered with Habitat for Humanity to help build houses for a new neighborhood in Holland. Our Gerber and Ludington facilities teams volunteered with Home Team Housing (formerly Habitat for Humanity) in Ludington. The team’s mission was to build a wheelchair ramp for a veteran. Just like our previous team, both teams traveled without hesitation to answer the call. The teams came together in a collective effort to successfully build the ramp from the bottom up. They worked together in leveling the ground for the ramp, cutting lumber for framing and deck boards for the ramp, installing the frame and deck boards and adding handrails for the ramp.   Across all the regions, the facilities department’s commitment to team building is clear. By uniting for meaningful causes and memorable challenges, staff members continue to build foundations of trust, connection, and shared vision that support not only their organizations but also the communities they serve. Such hands-on projects serve as powerful reminders of the positive change that teams can achieve when they work toward a common goal.
