The World Economic Forum (WEF) reports that 66% of organizations believe AI will significantly affect cybersecurity in the next 12 months, but only 37% have processes in place to assess AI security before deployment. Smaller businesses are even more exposed—69% lack safeguards for secure AI deployment, such as monitoring training data or inventorying AI assets. Accenture finds similar gaps: 77% of organizations lack foundational data and AI security practices, and only 20% express confidence in their ability to secure generative AI models. https://lnkd.in/eRVJ96E9

Navigating the Double-Edged Sword of AI in Cybersecurity AI is transforming business operations—but also expanding the attack surface. As Robert Cottrill, Technology Director at ANS Group , explains, the rapid adoption of AI brings new efficiencies but also risks like data leakage, AI-powered phishing, and regulatory exposure. With frameworks like the EU AI Act struggling to keep pace, organisations must take a responsible approach: 🔹 Train employees at all levels to spot and prevent AI-related risks 🔹 Adopt open-source AI responsibly, ensuring transparency and compliance 🔹 Embed cybersecurity into every stage of the AI journey AI is a double-edged sword. The organisations that succeed will be those that harness its power while keeping cybersecurity at the heart of innovation. 👉 Read the full story here: https://bit.ly/429ZuW6 #AI #Cybersecurity #ResponsibleAI #DigitalTransformation #ANS

AI is transforming business operations, but security often lags behind. Despite 92% of tech leaders planning to increase AI investment, only 37% assess AI security before deployment. This disconnect fuels risks, especially as AI lowers barriers for sophisticated cyberattacks. We’re seeing emerging threats like deepfakes, hyper-realistic phishing, and AI-driven manipulation, tools that empower scammers and malicious actors. Alarmingly, 77% of organizations lack fundamental AI and data security measures, and only a small fraction trust their ability to secure generative models. Without integrated defenses, companies risk turning their innovation efforts into vulnerabilities. Attackers leverage AI to clone voices and craft convincing scams, raising both financial and reputational concerns. Proactive security must be embedded from the start, secure coding, adversarial testing, encrypted data, and continuous model monitoring are essential. AI risk management can’t be siloed; it needs to be woven into broader cybersecurity strategies across cloud, network, and endpoint defenses. Managed service providers (MSPs) are both prime targets and trusted partners, but they face increasing AI-fueled attacks, over half of recent cyber threats targeting MSPs exploit these tactics. Building resilience demands transparency, shared responsibility, and integrated security solutions. For enterprise boards and security teams, AI security is no longer optional; it’s a strategic imperative. As AI accelerates innovation, so does the need for vigilant, baked-in controls, because the true opportunity lies in harnessing AI’s power securely. Exploring how to balance rapid adoption with rigorous safeguards will shape the future of trustworthy AI ecosystems.
