For week two of Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2025 (Oct 1–31) 🔐 we’re looking at deepfake prevention and detection. 👇 Kristen Moore is a research scientist in cybersecurity at CSIRO’s Data61 with a keen interest in ethical AI, digital safety and machine learning applications. In a recent interview with The Daily Telegraph, Kristen addressed the topic of deepfake prevention and detection. “Deepfake technology is evolving very rapidly, it’s improving month by month, whereas just a few years ago most fakes looked really clumsy. To avoid falling for deepfake scams, you should be very wary of urgent requests, because urgency is always a red flag. "A really important one to remember is that real businesses and public figures won’t ask you for money or personal details in this way.⚠️ "But being mindful of what you share publicly can reduce your risk, and using multi-factor authentication for your accounts makes it much harder for anyone to misuse your likeness."🔒 Explore resources for Cyber Security Awareness Month here: http://bit.ly/4nET9ea

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a good time to remember that most breaches don’t start with complex hacks, but with simple human mistakes. A few ways to stay safer online: - Use strong, unique passwords (12–15 characters) - Enable multifactor authentication - Stay alert for phishing attempts that exploit trust and psychology - Consider a password manager to keep credentials secure Cybercriminals are becoming more sophisticated, using AI and social engineering to make scams harder to spot. However, the right mix of technology and vigilance can go a long way in helping safeguard both personal and professional data. Vibe Hacking: The New AI-Powered Cyberattack According to Anthropic’s August 2025 Threat Intel report, cybercriminals are no longer just using AI for tips; they're letting AI run the attacks for them. 👉 One case showed hackers using Claude Code to scan networks, steal credentials, and even craft ransom notes, hitting 17 organizations in just one month across healthcare, government, and finance. Why does this matter for #compliance & security teams? Because AI lowers the barrier to cybercrime. Now, even low-skilled attackers can launch sophisticated campaigns that were once unthinkable. That’s why resilience is more critical than ever: ✔️ Independent backups ✔️ Granular restores ✔️ Compliance-ready audit logs 🛡️ Want to protect your #Atlassian data against the next wave of AI-powered threats? Yesterday, Nicole Wong joined Connected Britain 2025's panel: “Britain's Cyber Underground: How Hacktivism and Cybercrime Are Testing National Resilience”, where she explored how AI is shaping the future of cyber threats and defence: “We’re seeing AI be used by attackers to develop new malware and execute highly sophisticated phishing attacks. The good news? AI has been leveraged by defenders for a long time. The real power lies in combining different AI techniques to build agentic systems - systems that can perceive data from multiple sources, analyse, plan, and take action to keep security teams ahead of the curve.” 👏 Nicole also highlighted the importance of proactive anomaly detection and risk-based approaches: prioritising threats based on probability and impact, while ensuring evolving standards keep pace with the changing risk landscape. As cybercrime grows more advanced, conversations like these are vital to staying one step ahead.

A business owner I know called me in a panic not long ago. His company had been hit by a cyberattack- customer data stolen, operations frozen for two days, and years of trust lost in just a few hours. The shocking part? They weren’t careless. They had firewalls, antivirus software, and regular audits. Yet the attack slipped right through. That’s when it became clear: traditional cybersecurity is no longer enough. Today’s threats evolve faster than businesses can react, and hackers are outpacing old defenses. That’s why I believe AI in cybersecurity isn’t optional anymore- it’s essential. At AiBridze, we’re helping businesses safeguard their future with AI that detects threats instantly, predicts attacks before they happen, and automates responses that cut downtime from days to seconds. We shared our thoughts in a new blog- AI in Cybersecurity: Urgent Wake-Up Call to Safeguard Your Future It’s not about 𝘪𝘧 your business will be targeted — it’s about 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯. The question is, will you be ready? #Cybersecurity #AI #AiBridze #FutureOfWork

🛡️ October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month — and this time, it really hits differently for me. Over the past few months, while diving into cybersecurity labs and real-world case studies, I’ve seen how small habits make the biggest impact. It’s not always about advanced tools or complex systems — sometimes it’s as simple as: 🔹 Thinking twice before clicking a link 🔹 Using Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) 🔹 Keeping systems updated 🔹 Questioning what looks “too normal” One thing I’ve learned: cybersecurity is as much about people as it is about technology. Every click, password, and decision plays a role in protecting something bigger. So this month, let’s not just be aware — let’s be intentional. Because security doesn’t start in a data center… it starts with us. 💻🔒 #CyberSecurityAwarenessMonth #InfoSec #CyberHygiene #StaySecure #AwarenessMatters #CyberMindset

Hot off the cyber press.....Oh Behave! The Annual Cybersecurity Attitudes and Behaviors Report 2025 by National Cybersecurity Alliance. #cybersecurity #cyberfraud Key Findings AI is still a concern ✅ 65% of respondents believe AI will make it easier for criminals to pose as someone else. ✅Despite the surge in AI usage, 58% of users report receiving no training on security or privacy risks. Cybercrime is hitting wallets harder than ever ✅44% of respondents reported experiencing cybercrime that led to data or monetary loss, a 9% increase from 2024. ✅Younger generations were hit hardest: 59% of Gen Z and 56% of Millennials reported losses from scams. Security habits show ongoing weaknesses ✅62% of respondents report regularly creating unique passwords, a decline from 2024, while 41% never use a password manager. ✅While multi-factor authentication is widely recognized (77%), only 41% use it regularly. ✅56% of participants update their software frequently, though only 47% consistently back up important data. https://lnkd.in/eRjKs6zA?

Cybersecurity isn’t optional anymore — it’s survival. Every 39 seconds, an attack attempt happens somewhere in the world. The scary part? Most breaches don’t happen because of advanced hackers — they happen because of weak passwords, outdated systems, and human error. The future of defense lies in AI-driven detection, zero-trust models, and continuous awareness training. Organizations that treat cybersecurity as a checkbox are already behind. Those that embed security into every layer of their operations will lead the way. Cybersecurity is no longer just IT’s problem — it’s a business survival strategy. #CyberSecurity #AI #ZeroTrust #RiskManagement #DataProtection #NextGenSecurity
