𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙤𝙣 𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝘾𝙑 𝘿𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣 (𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝘿𝙤 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙙) You could be the perfect candidate but if your CV design is cluttered or confusing, it won’t matter. Here are 5 common CV design mistakes most Gen Z professionals make (and how to fix them): 1. Using templates with too many colours, shapes, or icons ✅ Stick to one or two fonts, plenty of white space, and a neat structure. 2. Putting your photo, marital status, or religion ✅ These are irrelevant and may cause unconscious bias. Stick to name, contact, LinkedIn link, and location. 3. Overcrowding the page ✅ Use bullet points, keep it max 1–2 pages, and avoid long paragraphs. 4. Not organizing content by relevance ✅ Lead with sections most relevant to the job: e.g. “Projects” before “Work Experience” if you’re still in school. 5. No consistency in font size, alignment, or spacing ✅ Choose a clean, consistent layout. Use a resume checker tool if needed. CV design is about readability and clarity, not decoration. Your CV should make the recruiter’s job easier, not harder. Reach out to us for a clean, ATS-ready CV that gets recruiters to notice you.

Creating a CV as a designer can be confusing. I see a lot of CV's that look amazing, and clearly a lot of time has been spent on them. But making your CV look good is a waste of time, and may actually be a hinderance. I'm not saying it shouldn't be well designed, things like: - Formatting - Font choice - Layout - Clarity Are all important, but try to keep it as simple as possible. Let the words do the storytelling for you. In most cases it's going to be a recruiter looking at it and if they can't tell what you do in literally seconds, it'll get rejected. Spend the time really refining what you say, make clarity and impact the biggest goal of your CV.

Size matters. Way more than you think. And before we go any further, please drag your mind out of the gutter. I’m of course talking about font size on your CV. On average recruiters spend only 7.4 seconds looking at a CV. It’s vital that you make your CV as readable as possible and font size is the first thing you should consider. 📏 The body text should be 10-12pt 📏 Headings can be a little bigger - size 14-16pt 📏 Your name at the top of the CV a little bigger - size 18-22pt And while you’re at it make sure to pick a font like Arial, Calibri or Times New Roman - clean, simple, and recruiter-friendly! Imagine you’re a recruiter. You’re overworked and under pressure. Are you going to slog through hundreds of CVs in tiny font, attempting to decipher what’s buried in the size 8 font? No. Focus on readability to boost your chances of landing an interview. What size font have you used in your CV? Let me know in the comments! #CV #CVTips #Interview
