We should be talking about what’s happening in Sudan. Upwards of 30 million people, half of them children, need humanitarian assistance. Millions also face severe food insecurity and many have lost their lives. It’s been named by many as one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises - and it’s all happening in real time. Our partners at UNICEF have teams on the ground, working to protect and support children and families caught in this conflict. This week with UNICEF Canada we added $50K to support UNICEF’s relief efforts in Sudan, on top of our annual $100K donation to their Global Humanitarian Thematic Fund. Sudan urgently needs our collective attention, in addition to the many other crises around the world where help is equally vital. We continue to hope for more peace and stability across the globe, and above all, more kindness and compassion for one another. Every headline is a human life, a family, a story and in moments like these, our shared humanity matters more than ever.
