In parallel, the team unveiled the Skelmir S12, a larger, modular AUV engineered for high-speed, long-range missions, delivering advanced capability at a fraction of the traditional cost.
Vatn is excited to announce the launch of our latest product, the affordable Skelmir S12 AUV-Torpedo Product Line, and our first factory coming on line in Bristol, RI by July 2025 with a capacity to produce 2000+ units per year across all product lines! The S12 is a 12.75 in diameter multi-mission underwater effector that can serve a variety of roles, from traditional AUV to lightweight torpedo and almost everything in between. With speeds over 30 knots at the top end and ranges over 200 nautical miles at cruise speed, this modular family of systems is built to meet the emerging mission needs of the US Military & our Allies, all at a fraction of the price of existing options. The S12 has already completed its first military exercise & we have sold the first production run of S12s with delivery this year. A commercial version, the Torsk 12 is also available, offering unprecedented affordability across industries.
