Olive Garden is testing smaller, more affordable portions—and it's working. As someone who worked at Olive Garden in the early 2000s, I’ve seen how portion size, value perception, and guest satisfaction are deeply connected. Now, they’re piloting a lighter portions test across 40% of locations—offering fan-favorite entrees at reduced portions and price points (yes, unlimited soup/salad/breadsticks still included). ✅ Guests love the value ✅ Traffic is up ✅ Feedback is positive But there are risks: lower check averages, operational complexity, and brand perception challenges. 💡 In my latest blog, I break down what this test means for the industry—and what your restaurant can learn from it. 👉https://lnkd.in/evCqTMsf #RestaurantStrategy #PortionControl #MenuEngineering #OliveGarden #LighterPortions #HospitalityLeadership #DeVitaHancock #RestaurantGrowth #CasualDining #RestaurantTrends2024
