In support of the Blue UAS Initiative, the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) has launched the Blue Portal to streamline the certification and validation of commercial drone platforms and components. This will strengthen supply chain security and enable the timely fielding of compliant systems to support national defense and security needs. Any commercial firm can go through this process on their own initiative to join the Blue UAS List and Blue UAS Framework. The Blue Portal is powered by Recognized Assessors, who will perform 3rd party assessments based on a common Blue UAS Standard. The list of approved Recognized Assessors include AUVSI — Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International, Dark Wolf Solutions, Edgesource Corporation, Legion X, Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) and SpiderOak. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/efrfitGB
Thanks for sharing! How will the standardized approach address data standards or ontologies?
Robin Hawk , James Platt , it appears the portal is active. Dan
This should really help streamline the certification process for defense contractors. The standardized approach through the Blue Portal makes compliance much more accessible for companies of all sizes. How long does the typical assessment process take once a company submits through the portal? This could be valuable info for teams planning their certification timeline.
A critical step forward for secure drone integration. The Blue Portal not only accelerates compliance but also empowers commercial innovators to support national defense through a clear, standardized pathway. #BlueUAS #InnovationInDefense
