Computer vision can now "correlate clinically" in dermatology, dramatically improving accuracy. At MDandMe, we used a dataset of 113 diagnosis-verified dermatological images to demonstrate that LLM technology, in particular GPT4o and to a lesser extent Claude 3.5 Sonnet, can almost double their accuracy when provided relevant clinical context. When the right context is gathered and submitted to the LLM at the right time, as is the proprietary capability of MDandMe, our GPT4o-based dermatology framework can achieve >80% accuracy.
