A recent study in The Journal of Urology, conducted in partnership with UCLA Health, reveals that Unfold AI (by Avenda Health) detected prostate cancer with 84.7% accuracy, significantly exceeding physicians' performance—who ranged between 67.2% and 75.9%. Moreover, when AI-assisted methods were used for cancer contouring (mapping tumor size), the results were 45 times more accurate and consistent compared to doctors relying solely on conventional imaging and clinical data. 🚨 New in European Urology: Association Between Circulating Tumor DNA and Clinical Outcomes with Adjuvant Immune Checkpoint Blockade in MIBC In this exploratory analysis of IMvigor010, researchers examined the role of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer who received neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by cystectomy. Key findings: ctDNA remained a powerful prognostic marker even after NAC. Patients with undetectable ctDNA after surgery did not derive clear benefit from adjuvant atezolizumab. Results highlight ctDNA’s potential to guide personalized perioperative therapy decisions.
