Last week, KKR's Global Wealth Solutions team hosted our first London-based event dedicated to exploring private equity investing for the wealth community. We discussed KKR’s value creation toolkit, with a particular focus on how our firm has been investing in and unlocking value across our portfolio companies for nearly fifty years. The key takeaways included: ⚫ Philipp Freise, KKR’s co-head of European Private Equity, stressed the importance of ‘being local’ whilst having global resources to draw on, particularly given the critical role of private capital in supporting European growth. ⚫ Alisa Wood, discussed considerations for selecting the right private equity manager; it’s critical to work with a manager able to create value in their portfolio companies irrespective of market cycles. ⚫ Clare Gilmartin, the former CEO of Trainline (a former KKR portfolio company), talked about the opportunities offered by modernizing customer experiences and how a long-term vision helps to navigate periods of disruption. It was great to see so many clients in the audience really engaging with these topics; we look forward to planning the next event. Thank you to my fellow presenters: Philipp Freise, Alisa Wood, Markus Egloff, Odumade Odutola, Aidan Corcoran, and Matt Yates.
