🌍 The 11th G20 Parliamentary Speakers' Summit (#P20) wrapped last week in South Africa! Parliaments from across the #G20 came together to tackle the world's biggest challenges. Here's what they agreed on: 🌡️ CLIMATE ACTION: Limiting global warming to 1.5°C, strengthening disaster resilience, and ensuring fair climate finance for those hit hardest by the crisis 🌾 FOOD SECURITY: Climate-smart farming, supporting small-scale farmers, and cutting food waste to end hunger sustainably 💰 DEBT RELIEF: Reforming financial systems to free developing countries from crushing debt and redirect resources to essential services ⚡ CLEAN ENERGY: Equitable investment in renewable energy, especially in Africa, with a focus on empowering women and youth in the transition ⛏️ CRITICAL MINERALS: Building fair supply chains that create local jobs and protect communities in mineral-rich nations 🤝 DEMOCRACY & RIGHTS: Strengthening multilateralism, eliminating discrimination, and harnessing AI responsibly for everyone 📢 Parliaments represent the people AND control the budgets. Time to turn these commitments into action.
