To my former colleagues in Amazon Devices and Core Shopping receiving the news today: this is a challenging time, and you are in my thoughts. Five months ago, I found myself in a similar situation after 13 years at Amazon. The uncertainty is real. If you have the opportunity to take some time, I encourage you to do so. I spent my time training for a sprint triathlon, enjoying moments with friends, family, and my 8-year-old daughter while exploring the outdoors, and delving into ML pipelines and Python rediscovering my passion for building systems. I understand that not everyone has the same circumstances. For those on visas with tight timelines or facing pressures to move quickly, that is completely valid. Do what you need to do. There is no "right" way to navigate this. What I can offer: I have been through Amazon's process, understand the landscape, and am happy to assist with resume reviews, referrals, interview preparation, or simply being a sounding board as you consider your next steps. Personally, I am seeking Engineering Manager roles where I can: - Build and scale AI/ML production systems - Lead teams through complex, high-stakes launches - Drive technical architecture that enables rapid experimentation while maintaining customer standards If you know of opportunities that align, let's connect.
