The Johannesburg Business School (JBS) is delighted to welcome its new Dean, Prof. Alistair Mokoena (CMSA, Bcom, LLB, MBA, MDP, EDP, PhD, DBA). Professor Mokoena brings over 25 years of leadership experience across global corporations and academia, having served in executive roles at Google South Africa, Ogilvy South Africa, and Foote, Cone & Belding South Africa. His expertise spans marketing, digital transformation, stakeholder engagement, and strategic leadership across diverse industries, including consumer goods, financial services, ICT, media, and education. In 2023, Professor Mokoena was bestowed with the Distinguished Alumni Award by North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit , and in 2024, he received the same award from Rhodes University. He is the founder of the Alistair Mokoena Education Fund, which provides financial assistance to students at the University of Johannesburg, Rhodes University, and the North-West University. Professor Mokoena is a published author and Chartered Marketer (SA). His appointment strengthens the Johannesburg Business School’s commitment to innovation, leadership excellence, and societal impact. Professor Mokoena has also made significant contributions to academia. He holds a PhD from North-West University, and a few weeks ago, he achieved his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal's Graduate School of Business and Leadership. We wish Professor Mokoena a successful and fulfilling experience at the Johannesburg Business School within the University of Johannesburg.
