Excited to share we are launching our Universal PHY at OCP Global Summit in San Jose Oct 13-16. Part of our mission is to enable Chiplets for everyone. Currently Chiplets are only for large companies and realistically for advanced nodes. As part of the launch we plan to open source part of our IP to enable small teams to develop their own compatible PHY's that interoperate with us. Any node, any foundry, royalty free. ✅Huawei's new open source technique shrinks #LLM s to make them run on less powerful, less expensive hardware 🌀#Huawei’s Computing Systems Lab in #Zurich has introduced a new open-source quantization method for large language models (LLMs) aimed at reducing memory demands without sacrificing output quality. 🌀The technique, called #SINQ (Sinkhorn-Normalized Quantization), is designed to be fast, calibration-free, and easy to integrate into existing model workflows. I’m pleased to share that I’ll be speaking at the STAC Summit London on October 7. My session will focus on techniques for achieving deterministic, ultra-low-latency inference in ML-based trading systems. I’ll cover: - Best practices for reducing and stabilizing inference times - The impact of model structure on determinism - The role of quantization in optimizing performance and memory footprint - How deployment targets — from general-purpose CPUs to specialized accelerators — affect jitter and latency The talk will include real-world benchmarks demonstrating how these system-level design choices can unlock ML strategies that operate reliably at HFT speeds. SoftBank and RIKEN have named 21 organizations and research teams to take part in Japan’s JHPC-quantum test-user program, a national initiative aimed at linking quantum computers with the country’s top supercomputers. The announcement moves Japan’s hybrid effort into its first phase of real-world evaluation. Our work on wireless digital twin was recently accepted and published: https://lnkd.in/gSYDWgV4 We’ve also disclosed the source code used in this project in the OpenAirInterface GitLab repository under the following branch: https://lnkd.in/gCbHBt9u By combining open-source technologies, we aim to realize a wireless-communication digital twin environment and accelerate the R&D cycle. That said, the project above pushes CPU performance to the limit and is therefore quite unstable. To address this, we are offloading the channel convolution to an accelerator to reduce the processing load, enabling wireless emulation under fast, time-varying channels with Doppler effects. At the next OAI Workshop@The University of Texas at Austin, we will present digital-twin evaluation in dynamic radio environments. We’re looking forward to discussing cutting-edge 6G research topics within the OAI community.

🚀 New World Record in 5G Uplink with Open Source! 🚀 Our team has set a world record for 5G uplink speed on an open-source stack, reaching 422 Mbps using the OAIBOX MAX, powered by the OAI core network, OAI gNB, and Emerson/NI (National Instruments) USRP X410. This achievement was made possible thanks to the incredible collaboration with the OpenAirInterface Software Alliance engineering team. Uplink traffic is expected to grow sharply in 6G, fueled by AI-enabled applications like robotic devices continuously uploading data to edge inference engines. The progress around Arm Total Design and the Foundation Chiplet System Architecture (FCSA) reflects how shared innovation is driving the industry forward. At #OCPSummit25, Arm announced the expansion of the Arm Total Design ecosystem with new capabilities in advanced packaging, interconnect, and system integration, and contributed the vendor-neutral FCSA specification to the Open Compute Project Foundation - helping drive open, interoperable AI design forward. Together with Arm joining the OCP Board of Directors, these milestones mark the next step in building the foundation for a new era of AI infrastructure - one defined by openness, efficiency, and collaboration.
