📡 Calling satellite ground station operators across Europe! ESA’s #Estrack Augmented Network is evolving - and we’re opening to new partners. Commercial stations are currently complementing ESA’s Estrack core network through service contracts. Most play a critical role during launch and early orbit phases, and one is dedicated to deep space activities. In the near future, we will need to expand our capacity to support the increasing number of missions in cis-Lunar space, Sun-Earth Lagrange points (Lagrange Points 1 and 2), and deep space. We are opening up to new stations to meet this growing demand for deep-space tracking, telemetry, command, and science downlink. ESA invites interest from ground station operators across Europe who wish to: 💠 offer compatible capacity to support future ESA missions 💠 collaborate on developing interoperable ground station services 💠 contribute to a coordinated European ground infrastructure Raise your interest here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dtPdBbsc ESA Operations, Engineering & Space Safety

⚙️ ESA’s “Pulse”: Revolutionizing Satellite Operations Across Missions ESA has unveiled Pulse, a new mission-independent operational framework designed to streamline mission monitoring and control across its growing constellation of spacecraft. Rather than rely on mission-specific, fragmented tools, Pulse offers a unified logic that links telemetry, event management, data exchange, and execution, enabling faster response, better coordination, and greater situational awareness. Pulse will first roll out on ESA’s Swarm constellation in 2026, and gradually become the backbone for both Earth-orbit and deep space missions. Importantly, it’s released under the ESA Community Licence, allowing access by the wider European space sector without commercial barriers. Built from cross-functional collaboration and iterative validation, Pulse reflects a shift toward a more integrated, agile operational culture. As ESA puts it: “Pulse changes how we see and manage monitoring and control … expanding and easing automation possibilities.” Pulse may not be a flashy mission or telescope, but it’s the invisible infrastructure that could modernize how we operate spacecraft at scale across Europe and beyond. #Space #Innovation #Science #esa

🚀✨ Space tech news alert! European Space Agency - ESA just installed a brand-new, ultra-precise atomic clock at its deep-space ground station in New Norcia, Australia – and the best part? It’s 100% designed and built in Europe! 🔭 Why does this matter? 1. Deep-space missions need perfectly synchronized timing to talk to Earth. 2. Even the tiniest timing error can throw off navigation. 3. Europe is stepping up to be fully self-reliant in critical tech like timing, navigation, and communications. 4. And yes, this clock is already working in the real-world environment of ESA’s deep-space network. 🕰️ Fun fact: This is a hydrogen maser clock—one of the most stable and precise types of atomic clocks on Earth, essential for guiding spacecraft across the Solar System. So while most of us just “check the time” on our phones, ESA is literally building the time core of space exploration. Next time you think about satellites, navigation, or deep-space missions… remember, this clock is quietly keeping everything on track 😎

ESA's Future Launcher Preparatory Programme (#FLPP) is architecting a €1+ billion bet on space logistics that could dramatically accelerate space economy. Here's what caught my attention from European Space Agency - ESA's latest ecosystem vision: 📊 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹 With ~13% of ESA's €7.68B budget allocated to space transportation, Europe is investing approximately €1 billion annually in this transformation. The target? 50% cost reduction vs. Ariane 6 to finally put European launch capabilities in competitiveness with SpaceX - but is it enough ? 🛰️ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 "𝗢𝗱𝘆𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘆" 𝗼𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝘂𝗯 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 An orbital recharge depot that functions like a fuel (and repair ?) station. Spacecraft launch light, refuel in orbit, then continue to Moon/Mars with dramatically larger payloads. Challenging but promising target. ⏳ 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 ESA's ministerial council in late 2025 will decide funding for the next chapter of European space economy. Meanwhile, AVIO just secured €40M for reusable upper stage development. The pieces are starting to connect ? The bigger question: is Europe already positioning itself to own the "middleware" of space logistics while others focus on pure launch capability? If orbital refueling becomes as "routine" as terrestrial gas stations, controlling those hubs could become more valuable than owning the trucks. Member news: Atheras Analytics SAS Awarded European Space Agency - ESA Contract to Tackle Satellite Interference in Crowded Skies 🛰️ 'The project directly addresses one of the most pressing challenges in modern space communications: the increasing risk of signal interference between legacy Geostationary (GSO) satellites and the new wave of thousands of Non-Geostationary (NGSO) satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO). Under the contract, Atheras Analytics will develop a sophisticated “System Simulator for EPFD Evaluation Tool”. This software will provide ESA with a powerful new capability to go beyond static regulatory checks and conduct dynamic, system-level simulations. The tool will assess the real-world impact of NGSO interference on GSO system performance, such as its effects on service availability and data throughput. Crucially, the simulator is designed to assess the effect of changing the current EPFD limits, providing data-driven insights into how varying these international regulations could impact GSO services and whether they could be modified to accommodate future systems.'
