if kids don't interact with concrete things, slide things, turn things shake them, or dont construct or create things while learning, two things will happen. 1. The amount of information that moves from temporary to permanent storage will be minimal. 2. The neural pathways needed to form connections with other information they've got stored to enable them build understanding will also be minimal. Learning wont be optimal even if they pass your exam. All of learning design in k-12 pedagogy is geared towards optimizing both these processes. We must go beyond lesson planning to learning designing.

Is professionalising systems practice the ultimate #futureofwork paradox? How do we embed #systemsthinking in institutions that seem designed to repel it? How can we sustainably continue to design contextually-relevant learning systems? How do we spread systemic insight through the mainstream without turning it into just another orthodoxy? https://lnkd.in/eDzhUgnY

🧠 Eleven proven learning principles. One powerful framework. From multitasking myths to the power of spacing and error-driven learning, Module 1 of The Learning Blueprint helps teachers understand why strategies work—and gives them tools to apply the science tomorrow. Three “aha” moments teachers love: • Text + speech → overload • Images + speech → stronger learning • Errors → pathway to success It’s PD that’s practical, evidence-based, and immediately useful. If you lead Teaching & Learning, this is the starting point for PD with real impact.(Full details in the first comment.) The great lie of modern self-education is that access to infinite information is the same as learning. It is not. The internet is a chaotic market square of facts and fiction. A true education requires a classroom: a curated path, a focused environment, and an expert guide. Stop hoarding information. Start seeking understanding.

Our educators know that real learning happens when learners can see what they do not yet understand, reflect on their thinking, get feedback, and work with new ideas in a way that sticks. Quick answers from a chatbot can feel useful in the moment, but they rarely lead to lasting knowledge. That’s the idea behind “Learning That Lasts,” a new paper from our Head of Education, Emily Joye. 👉 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/eSqWGpFZ

David Kolb's Learning styles are : 1.Converging: Learners using this learning style like to solve problems and enjoy applying learning to practical issues. They excel in practical applications, and technical tasks. 2. Diverging: In this learning style, learners prefer to watch and reflect on what they’ve observed before jumping in. They have strong imaginations and creative abilities. Often focusing on brainstorming, generating ideas and exploring multiple perspectives. 3.Assimilating: This learning style incorporates learners who like using analytical models to explore and prefer concepts and abstract ideas. They excel in creating theoretical models, analyzing information and making logical deductions. 4.Accommodating: Learners using this learning style relish a challenge and using intuition to solve problems. They enjoy hands-on experiences, taking risks and learning through trial and error. What learning style will take up the following challenge ?
