The architecture of the first building (the rectangular block resting on the dome) employs a direct, literal juxtaposition of orthogonal and curved geometries to distinguish function and create visual tension. The heavy, glass rectilinear volume signifies traditional, layered commercial/office space, while the light, faceted geodesic dome beneath clearly denotes a specialized, public, or exhibition space (like a planetarium or a bio-dome). The dome is not just an attachment; it serves as a dynamic, transparent pedestal for the heavier mass above, effectively turning the building's foundation into its most expressive element.

Reimagining the Civic Landmark: A Stadium for the Future. What if a stadium could be more than a destination for a game, but a serene landmark that enhances its environment 24/7? This conceptual design explores a stadium as a piece of topographic art, seamlessly woven into the landscape. This vision moves beyond pure spectacle to create a place of awe and tranquility, proposing a new typology for large-scale venues where architecture, nature, and urban life converge. The core design philosophies behind this concept: 🌊 Organic Architecture: The wave-like roof is not merely an aesthetic gesture; it's a structural statement that minimizes the building's visual mass and allows it to flow over the hilltop like a natural landform, reducing its environmental and visual impact. 🌳 Biophilic Integration: By situating the venue within a green, park-like setting and incorporating a reflective pond, the design prioritizes a connection to nature. This provides a peaceful public space even on non-event days and promotes sustainable water management and biodiversity. 🌇 A Symbiotic Relationship with the City: The elevated placement creates a mutual benefit: the stadium offers breathtaking views for attendees, while its iconic, gently illuminated form becomes a beautiful sculptural element in the city's nightly skyline, avoiding the typical "concrete doughnut" effect. This project represents a forward-thinking approach to civic architecture—where the legacy of a venue is measured not only by the events it hosts but by the beauty and calm it contributes to the urban fabric. Set within a dense forest, this concept envisions a 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 that harmonizes glass transparency with full-height black-framed glazing, bold horizontal lines at each slab defining the floors, and horizontal louvers that articulate the façade, allowing the built form to echo the surrounding canopy. Pocket terraces along the upper levels open the façade to greenery, offering breathing spaces within the vertical form. The earthy-toned, reflective façade mirrors the forest, creating a seamless visual integration between architecture and nature. The Innovation Outpost at Amarillo College in Amarillo, Texas, exemplifies how modern #architecture can blend sustainability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal with StoVentec Rainscreen Systems. Designed by Parkhill, this state-of-the-art hub for innovation revitalized a historic structure, transforming it into a collaborative space that honors the past while embracing the future. A defining feature of the project is the StoVentec Glass Rainscreen system, which was selected for its mirrored facade and high-performance capabilities. The mirrored glass finish reflects Amarillo’s historic surroundings, symbolizing the intersection of legacy and progress. Originally envisioned as a visual effects studio, the structure evolved into a multipurpose performance space, fulfilling the original intent of fostering innovation and collaboration.

Hyper-modern cityscape The buildings exhibit bold, avant-garde designs that push the boundaries of current architectural norms. Notice the sleek, angular skyscrapers with predominantly glass and steel facades, reflecting the warm, golden light of the sunset. The most distinctive elements are the sky bridges or multi-story connectors linking several of the mid-rise structures. These aren't just decorative; they suggest a fully integrated, multi-level city experience, allowing for pedestrian movement, perhaps even internal transportation systems, and shared amenity space high above the ground. This reflects a trend in high-density urban design towards vertical and horizontal connectivity.

UP ON THE ROOF: This morning, a zinc worker—one of around 6,000 in the city—was repairing rooftops across the way. In 2024, UNESCO recognized their expertise as cultural heritage, describing Paris as a "living archive" of these workers' craftsmanship and noting that the city's rooftops give its urban landscape “unique identity.” As more top-floor spaces are used year-round and summer heat intensifies, roofers are developing new methods to ventilate and insulate these thin metal roofs. #architecture #paris #rooftops

The design for Vero Beach Museum Of Art Inc’s expanded home and transformed campus, by Allied Works in collaboration with Unknown Studio, Landscape Architecture & Urban Design, LLC, will launch the institution into a new era, deepening its already robust impact as the Treasure Coast’s premier cultural destination and expanding its reach beyond the region. Conceived as a series of interconnected walled courtyards, the design interweaves galleries and studios with gardens and terraces, integrating the Museum into the surrounding Riverside Park. The 90,000-square-foot building will more than double VBMA’s exhibition space, and its first floor—featuring a dedicated education wing, purpose-built studios, a café, interactive kids’ Art Zone, flexible auditorium and community room, and Modern and Contemporary gallery— will be entirely free and open to the public. Great Lakes Academy doubled the size of its campus with an ambitious renovation of an unused church building adjacent to the existing academic building.⁠ ⁠ The design combines old and new, with a contemporary single-story glass link mediating between the solidity of the historic school and church buildings which date back to 1911 and 1952, respectively. This intervention is open and lightweight, with high-performance, floor-to-ceiling glass, thermally broken curtain wall framing systems, and internally-lit skylights that fill the space with natural light.⁠ ⁠ The new courtyard is designed to support learning and encourage exploration of nature. With seating areas throughout, teachers can hold outdoor classes, families can socialize, and students can play in safe spaces.
