Sustainability doesn’t stop with design — it shines through every step of the way. The City of Greater Bendigo chose Leadsun solar pathway and park lights to illuminate its new Garden for the Future. Instead of conventional grid-powered lights, the project embraced clean, green, solar energy, aligning perfectly with Councils' environmental sustainability blueprint . With 50 AE3 grid-free solar lights installed, the garden's now offer a safer and more welcoming space for the community to enjoy, any time of the day. How do bold buildings change lives? This World Green Building Week, we’re celebrating the bold buildings making a lasting social and environmental impact. Glenroy Community Hub, Melbourne, Australia: As a beacon of local transformation and world class sustainability, Glenroy Hub aims to improve community health, wellbeing and education across generations – by providing essential services in a place people love. It is the first public building in Australia to achieve two of the toughest international sustainability benchmarks: the Passivhaus energy efficiency standard and the Living Building Challenge petal ready certification for regenerative design and Zero Energy. WSP in Australia designed the community hub as separate but connected structures to meet the two different standards. Maximizing energy efficiency while creating open spaces full of natural light, fresh air and nature. • All electric building – 125% of energy from solar • Flexible building services for energy efficiency + climate resiliency • Water efficient features including 200kl underground rainwater tank • Water sensitive landscaping reduces flood risk and pollutants Being bold on buildings means building futures. #BeBoldOnBuildings World Green Building Council Building photos courtesy of Dianna Snape.

Green buildings pay off in more ways than one.💸 It’s not only about the planet. Green buildings create real, measurable benefits for people and businesses: • Lower operating costs through energy and water savings 💸 • Reduced environmental footprint by cutting waste and emissions 🌍 • Higher property value as demand for sustainable spaces grows 🏢 • Healthier environments with better air quality and natural light 🧑🤝🧑 In my work, I’ve seen projects achieve up to 40% less energy use and 45% water savings, results that go straight to the bottom line 💡. Green building is no longer a “nice-to-have.” It’s a strategy for efficiency, resilience, and long-term value 🌱. #GreenBuilding #Sustainability #ResilientCities #LEED
