Founders often talk about entering new markets. But some don’t just enter - they create a new category within them. Ziv Levi and Sapir Tubul, the founders of of our portfolio company, LeanCon, took one of the world’s oldest industries - construction - and created an entirely new category inside it: #AI-powered pre-construction. What once took months of manual planning by dozens of engineers now takes just seven minutes, fully automated and no human involvement. Their platform simulates millions of “what-if” scenarios, instantly recalculating schedules, logistics, and costs for projects worth hundreds of millions. Discover in our new blog post how two Israeli engineers turned industry skepticism into partnerships with some of America’s top builders. Link in the comments below. Week 2 — The Cost Breakthrough Every industry shift accelerates when the cost equation changes. The automobile industry didn’t scale until costs dropped far enough for ordinary people to participate. Construction may be waiting for the same. The building blocks exist: Local manufacturing that avoids expensive imports Standardized modules that stabilize pricing. Customer configuration that prevents “cookie-cutter” outcomes while keeping efficiency intact. Together, these could fundamentally change who gets to build, how quickly, and at what price point. 👉 Could connecting these cost innovations be the breakthrough construction has been waiting for? 👉 Founder, StructBlok Systems | Project Delivery Strategist #AffordableBuilding #Innovation #CommunityDevelopment #ConstructionInnovation #FutureOfBuilding #ProjectDelivery #EngineeringInnovation #DesignBuild #ConstructionTech #StructBlok #PhilipThomas

“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” – Theodore Roosevelt Sometimes, the best engineering tool isn’t a torque motor or a soil report. It’s listening. We’ve learned over the years that projects don’t always fail because of lack of technical know-how — they can stumble when people feel their worries aren’t being addressed. A homeowner who’s nervous about cracks in their extension… a contractor juggling a tight program with bad weather rolling in… those moments call for empathy before expertise. At UKHelix, we’ve built our approach around that principle. Yes, screw-piles deliver speed, reliability, and immediate load-bearing strength. But behind every pile is a conversation — about what matters most to the client, and how we can adapt to make it work. Because caring isn’t separate from engineering. It is the foundation. And when clients know we’ve got their back, the technical side falls into place naturally. #UKHelix #ScrewPiles #FoundationEngineering #ConstructionLeadership #CustomerFirst #BuiltOnTrust #CivilEngineering #Groundworks #StructuralIntegrity #EmpathyInBusiness #LowCarbonConstruction Langham Groundworks

Great engineering doesn’t happen by accident. It starts with partners who build talent that lasts. • Spotting future engineers early • Training them with mentors on real projects • Growing skills through continuous development This is called Resource Sustainability. It ensures the right people are always ready when projects demand it. ⏳ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻? Imagine knowing weeks in advance when a resource clash would bring your site to a halt, or seeing the impact of a design change on your entire project timeline. Instantly. Visually. And without guesswork 🤔 That is exactly what our process simulation software #dProB makes possible. From sandbox scenarios to live site control, it creates a process twin that helps predict risks, cut waste, and turn complexity into clarity. 🇬🇧 At UK Construction Week, Jonas will show you how it works in practice. In our live demo, you’ll see real use cases of simulation-driven construction planning and discover how digital tools are reshaping project delivery. 👉 Join us at the #DigitalConstructionHub and experience the future of construction planning live!

Construction is only getting more complex. AI connects data, learns from it, and orchestrates work in real time, helping owners and contractors improve safety, predict risk, control costs, and deliver more sustainably at scale. Oracle's Josh Kanner shares what’s possible now in his latest Engineering News-Record piece. A big thanks to Jeff Yoders for his help with this. https://lnkd.in/gmjB8yDE

The construction echo chamber sends us all a bit crazy. I walked through a trade show recently and couldn’t escape the feeling everyone’s shouting past each other. “AI will revolutionise everything by Tuesday” versus “Technology’s never worked on site, never will.” “Modern methods are the only future” versus “Traditional building built the world, mate.” “Margins are impossible” versus “We’re printing money.” No middle ground. No nuance. Just noise designed to grab attention rather than solve problems. The loudest voices seem to get the biggest platforms, regardless of whether they actually know what they’re talking about. I’ve sat in boardrooms where directors feel genuinely pressured to choose between some revolutionary change they don’t understand or defending outdated practices they know aren’t working. Both feel wrong, but the middle ground’s drowned out by all the shouting. The most successful contractors have learned to tune out the noise. They make measured changes based on evidence, not giddiness. They adopt new approaches when they improve margins, not because someone’s evangelising about them on LinkedIn. My job often involves helping my clients find the practical path between the extremes. The boring improvements that actually work rather than the flashy solutions that grab all the headlines. The truth is, most real progress happens quietly. It’s tweaking processes, improving systems, having better conversations with clients. Not exactly social media gold, but it pays everyone’s bills and gets the job done. What industry noise is trying to influence your decisions? Sometimes the best move is turning down the volume and just focusing on what actually works. #ConstructionStrategy #CommercialManagement #IndustryThinking #ConstructionReality #CommercialStrategy #IndustryNoise
