Yesterday, we looked at the popup and how it can make life a little easier for your users. However, we still don't have any required fields. ⁉️ On-premises, there is an annotation from the BOPF area to convert a field in the popup to a required field. However, we can no longer use the annotation in ABAP Cloud and therefore need a sensible alternative that works in all environments. You can currently implement two solutions here: 1️⃣ Check directly in the action and return an error message 2️⃣ Behavior definition for the abstract entity 💡 Best practice here is primarily the behavior definition, as the user can see directly in the popup which fields they definitely need to fill in and thus avoid running into the late check.
