I’m incredibly excited to have been named L&G's new CEO of Institutional Retirement and cannot wait to get started from December. The reason for deciding to join L&G four years ago was because I was inspired by the people I knew and had met. Having now worked across three divisions, I can see that these fantastic colleagues are why L&G is at the forefront of delivering innovative, risk-managed solutions that help pension schemes of all sizes meet their promises to people across the globe. There are many highlights of my time here so far but building partnerships is something I love and so working on the long-term strategic growth partnerships with Blackstone and Meiji Yasuda particularly stand out. I’ve been speaking with António about the opportunity ahead and how well positioned we are at L&G, to maximise our potential in the global PRT market, hand in hand with these partners. With more pension schemes closer to buyout than ever before, the outlook for the sector is incredibly positive.

Today we’ve announced the appointment of Gareth Mee as CEO for Institutional Retirement, from December, taking over from Andrew Kail who moves into the role of Group CFO*.
