Hanger, Inc.’s Post

Yesterday, Hanger and Ottobock joined forces to advocate for better access to #OandP care in Texas! More than 100 team members, along with members of the limb loss community, met with state representatives and senators to bring awareness to two very important bills: – SB 1466/HB 5544 addresses the lack of Medicaid coverage in Texas for people over the age of 20 needing O&P devices (Texas is the only state without Medicaid prosthetic coverage). – HB 426 focuses on providing Medicaid coverage for infants needing cranial remolding orthoses (CROs), ensuring timely access to CROs without financial barriers and improving patient outcomes. Thank you to our incredible Texas team members who gathered from across the region to participate in the big day and truly make a difference during Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month! I love Texas, they pay for my new cooling system for Prosthetics sockets and much more… maybe that would be worth purchasing in Texas.

👏 Incredible advocacy effort by Hanger and Ottobock! From a compliance lens, expanding Medicaid coverage for O&P devices aligns not only with equitable access but also improves regulatory alignment across state programs. SB 1466/HB 5544 and HB 426 represent steps toward consistent, medically necessary coverage—and reduced audit risk for denied services. #OandP #HealthEquity #ComplianceMatters
