Unity vulnerability CVE-2025-59489: patches and updates available

In June, researchers from RyotaK found a dangerous vulnerability in Unity games built since 2017, affecting applications due to unsafe file-loading methods. This vulnerability, identified as CVE-2025-59489, carries a high CVSS score of 8.4, allowing cybercriminals the potential to run malicious code or obtain sensitive information. Unity has since released patches and tools for newer games, encouraging developers to update and rebuild older games to safeguard users.
