Safe driving automation faces unique challenges: >> Urban environments with tunnels and overpasses block satellite signals. >> Rural roads lack objects and lane markings for sensors. >> Adverse weather, like fog and snow, can blind cameras and LiDAR. The solution? Combining GNSS absolute positioning with sensor fusion to ensure accuracy, availability, and reliability in all conditions. Discover how safe ADAS and autonomous driving are by leveraging absolute and relative positioning >> https://hxgn.biz/4mZC2Cy

Smart Cars are the future…. Volvo is leading the way, step aside Tesla. [WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON WITH THAT THING ON THE ROOF? Yes, about that. It’s the lidar, the sensor that underpins Volvo’s future-proofed commitment to safety. That’s been a brand USP since the early days, of course, but the new technical wonderland in which we now live widens the scope almost exponentially. Called Safe Space Technology, the ES90’s seven cameras, five radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors and lidar (just the one of those) give the car 360-degree oversight on the driving environment and collects real-time data on the road ahead. It can detect obstacles in the dark, too.]

🚦#ZOOX is driving the future of autonomy—safely navigating D.C. streets with Teledyne FLIR OEM thermal sensors, day or NIGHT. As Zoox expands autonomous vehicle testing to Washington, D.C., Teledyne FLIR thermal imaging technology is helping their robotaxis see what others can’t. Our infrared sensors see beyond headlights, enabling reliable pedestrian detection—even in total darkness, fog, or challenging weather. Thermal cameras detect heat, not light—giving Zoox vehicles enhanced situational awareness and offering redundancy across their sensor suite, which includes radar, LiDAR, and visible cameras. This added layer of safety helps protect pedestrians, cyclists, animals, and all road users. 👨💻Thermal vision is essential for autonomy. See the road through the eyes of autonomy. You’re watching the Volvo VNL Autonomous in action with the Aurora Driver, perceiving the road in real time with lidar, radar, high-resolution cameras — and the onboard computer that lets it process and react instantly. It’s not just detecting lanes. It’s building a 360-degree understanding of its environment, anticipating lane changes, responding to traffic, and planning safe paths down complex highways. The Volvo VNL Autonomous is purpose-built for this role: a truck platform with full vehicle-level redundancy in steering, braking, power, and communication, deeply integrated with the virtual driver to operate safely and reliably at scale. This is the new model for freight that's safer, more efficient, and built for continuous operation. #VolvoAutonomousSolutions #VAS #GuidedBySafety

When we started our high-reliability LiDAR processor development we anticipated an end market in automotive ADAS where our chip would dramatically lower the cost of equipment and open up high volume adoption. Hesai has led the industrialization of LiDAR in automotive but we hope to play into a second wave of performance driven systems that address the ultimate goal of making cars SAFER. Someone needs to inform Tesla that LiDAR machine vision is complementary (and superior in many ways) to cameras. https://lnkd.in/g5wffVap

Think of your LiDAR like a camera lens. Most sensors on the market have a fixed lens—one view, no zoom, no customization. But what if you could swap it out on the fly to get the perfect shot? Our Seyond Falcon LiDAR is the industry's first sensor with out-of-the-box configurable scan patterns. This means you can adjust the Field of View and Resolution to exactly match the demands of your application, whether it's autonomous driving or intelligent traffic management. See the Difference on Real Objects: We tested this flexibility by switching from the default pattern to a high-density mode on a tire and a 30cm box. The result? The concentrated pattern captured 2X more the number of points, giving you superior detail and better object classification. And with our new Multi-Scene Feature, you get up to 8 pre-set patterns, allowing you to instantly dial in the perfect setting for any scenario. The right tool for every job, built into a single LiDAR sensor. 👉 Learn more about the Falcon’s flexibility: https://lnkd.in/g_mCcjWr
