New this week: Hines has acquired the Marienhöfe residential quarter in Berlin as part of an off-market forward funding transaction for Hines European Core Fund (HECF). Berlin is one of our highest conviction living markets in all of Europe, so this was a natural choice for our largest residential investment in Germany to date. The mixed-use neighborhood consists of twelve buildings, including 880 rental apartments, a medical center, kindergarten, assisted living facility, and various retail and lifestyle units. The project is conveniently located next to the Attilastrasse S-Bahn station, connecting the district to Potsdamer Platz in central Berlin in under 15 minutes. In Marienhöfe, we saw a rare opportunity to create value at scale through placemaking in a highly supply-constrained market.
