As a medical research institute, research participants are the cornerstone of our work and impact. Health care wouldn’t be where it is today without the support of generous people who volunteer to participate in medical research. NeuRA Senior Principal Research Scientist and Director of the UNSW Ageing Futures Institute, Professor Kaarin Anstey, is an expert in cognitive ageing. Alongside her team at UNSW Sydney, she has led numerous projects researching older driver safety—work made possible by the participation of numerous research volunteers over the years. Last week, one of our participants, Chris, shared her experience with Sarah Macdonald live on Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Sydney Mornings. 🎧 Listen to the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/eAJ74ycM

So excited for Tyler Casely-Hayford for being part of the implementation of this initiative. This is a huge accomplishment for both; the State has launched the Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine and Assistive Technology (IRMAT), an initiative that will merge cutting-edge science with health care innovation. By partnering with leaders like Ascension Via Christi, Heartspring, and the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, IRMAT will revolutionize assistive technology and clinical care. This institute will conduct clinical trials and drive advancements to expand access to cutting-edge care across Kansas. The institute’s work begins now and will expand at the future Wichita Biomedical Campus in 2027. Learn more at wichita.edu/IRMAT.

https://lnkd.in/gag7TDdG All of Us made an agreement with the state of California to co-invest in precision medicine. California has committed $9M+ to help us engage with the diverse residents of the state both as study participants and as researchers. It's an exciting new model for us and we're hopeful that more states will join in our mission to get one million Americans enrolled.

Long time no see! I'm currently on the long interview road to residency; I've also been finishing up some projects and wanted to share a couple of them. I recently had a piece I wrote on hospice volunteering published in Baylor College of Medicine's "Omentum", an annual medical arts & literature publication. If you know me, you know the hospice experience is something near and dear to my heart. Find "W.T.D." in Vol. 4 here: https://lnkd.in/dPc2QWYX As part of my medical school's Global Health track, I recently completed & presented a scholarly paper on one of my favorite topics: Emerging zoonotic viruses (and the epidemiologic approaches to address them). Events like the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic have brought a lot of much-needed attention to the issue. Paper and presentation here: https://lnkd.in/dXqC3VPK
