🌍 Humanize & The Inner Development Goals (IDG): Building Purposeful Connection 🌍🌍 Franziska Schmitt, CEO at Humanize and Florian Sturm, Humanize teacher in training, had the privilege to attend the Inner Development Goals Summit in Stockholm —a powerful gathering dedicated to advancing a set of science-based skills and qualities that help us live purposeful, sustainable, and productive lives. Created by a non-profit organization in Sweden, the IDGs provide a framework for building inner capacities that support meaningful change. One IDG focus—Connection—truly aligns with our work at Humanize. In our pre- and post-program studies, we have seen how Humanize Dyads create structured, intentional spaces where participants don’t just discuss empathy, active listening, or trust; they embody it. These Dyads turn abstract values into real, lived experiences that foster the presence and awareness essential to building lasting, authentic connections. At the summit, we saw how the IDGs encourage us to look inward, developing capacities like empathy, resilience, and self-awareness that are key to achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Florian and Franziska are so grateful to bring these insights back to Humanize, where we can further integrate these values into our work, helping individuals and organizations make meaningful connections in both personal and professional settings.
