For the Label4Future project commissioned by the EU, I have been exploring what office chairs look like which are made from single material recycled plastics. When you recycle plastic, the fibers get shorter, making the plastic weaker. 12 recycling rounds would require the chair to be 3 times thicker to carry the same load making the office chair look very chubby. Also, attention was given to making components easy to replace, resulting in a back rest tentioned with a single string and a kick for removing the gas spring from the base. Our third time at FIND - Design Fair Asia 2025 was one to remember. This year, through the efforts of JEB's Sustainable Office Solutions (SOS), we were approached to transform and repurpose 68 old, unwanted tabletops into 34 sleek display panels for the show. Each panel was created by combining two worktops, giving them a completely new purpose. From concept to creation, the process moved from a quick 15 minute call to sketches, mock ups, and final delivery, all within just 4 weeks.   The worktops were repurposed and given a second life with a renewed purpose. What makes this initiative even more special is that only recyclable metal was introduced, achieving a truly sustainable and fully circular design. Through JEB’s SOS service, we aim to continue helping clients transform and upcycle for their future projects. Every small step matters when it comes to reducing waste and building responsibly. Some innovations feel small at first, but once you see them in action, you wonder how you ever lived without them. Take smart glass, for example. We haf installed a smart film for a client’s bathroom, and with just a switch, the glass transforms from crystal clear to fully frosted. Instant privacy. No curtains. No extra fuss. What I find fascinating is how simple yet powerful this technology is. It gives you control over your space in the most seamless way possible. Clean design, practical function, and a touch of wow every time you use it. It’s little things like these that remind me why I love bringing smart solutions into everyday living.
