☀️ Cargill & Mars partner for Poland’s largest multi-buyer renewable energy deal 🇵🇱 Mars and Cargill have launched a landmark joint venture to develop 224 MWac of new renewable energy capacity in Poland, signing five virtual power purchase agreements (PPAs) with GoldenPeaks Capital - one of Europe’s fastest-growing independent renewable energy producers. 🔋 The projects, facilitated by 3Degrees, are expected to come online in 2027, generating enough clean energy to power ~200,000 households annually. This marks the largest multi-buyer renewable energy agreement in Poland and Central-Eastern Europe (CEE) - a region still relying heavily on carbon-intensive grids. “By aggregating with our supplier, we gained scale and delivered a huge win for both of our organizations,” said Kevin Rabinovitch, Global VP Sustainability at Mars. “Beyond lowering procurement costs and reducing emissions, this deepens our commercial relationship,” added Christina Yagjian, Senior Director, Global Renewable Energy at Cargill. This initiative shows how supplier–customer partnerships can drive emissions reductions across the value chain, creating a replicable model for the wider food and agriculture sector. 🌍 #Cargill #Mars #Poland #RenewableEnergy #SolarPower #PPA #Sustainability #Decarbonisation #FoodIndustry #ClimateAction https://lnkd.in/dpvUsvd3

Mars and Cargill have signed five virtual power purchase agreements (VPPAs) with GoldenPeaks Capital that will support the development of more than 224 MWac of new solar capacity in Poland. “The PPA agreements with Mars and Cargill highlight our partnership-driven approach, delivering complex, high-value energy solutions, further driving decarbonisation across the region,” said Adriano Agosti, Founder and Chairman of GoldenPeaks Capital. The projects are expected to be operational by 2027 and will generate sufficient electricity to power around 200,000 households annually. Poland currently operates Europe’s most carbon-intensive grid, and the initiative will contribute to both companies’ emissions reduction targets. “These solar PPA agreements will create new solar projects that enable Mars to reduce and eliminate its current scope 2 electricity emissions in Poland and also a portion of our scope 3 emissions as part of our Renewable Acceleration program where Mars is driving progress on renewable electricity in our value chain,” commented Kevin Rabinovitch, Global VP of Sustainability at Mars. Christina Yagjian, Senior Director, Global Renewable Energy at Cargill, noted: “We’re proud to collaborate with Mars on this unique partnership. Beyond lowering procurement costs and reducing emissions, this work deepens our commercial relationship and shows how partnership across the value chain can drive meaningful climate action.” The agreements were facilitated by 3Degrees Group, Inc. Tyler Espinoza, Global Head of Power Markets at 3Degrees, added: “They are setting an excellent example of how companies and their suppliers can effectively collaborate to make forward progress in their collective decarbonisation goals." https://lnkd.in/gariwBBA #cleanenergy

Imerys has signed a 10 year Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) with ENGIE to supply 200 GWh of renewable electricity annually from three solar power plants in Spain. Scheduled for commissioning between early 2026 and 2027, this initiative will reduce Imerys’ Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions in Continental Europe by 14% by 2028, cutting an estimated 70,000 tons of CO₂ equivalent per year. This agreement builds on similar renewable energy projects in the U.S., China, and other regions, underscoring Imerys’ commitment to decarbonization and sustainability across global operations. This milestone aligns with Imerys’ broader target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2030 (2021 baseline). By leveraging ENGIE’s expertise, the partnership not only accelerates Imerys’ energy transition but also supports its customers in achieving their own decarbonization goals. From electrifying industrial processes to enhancing energy efficiency at its sites, Imerys continues to demonstrate that collaboration, innovation, and ambition can deliver impactful results for a low-carbon, sustainable future. #Imerys #ENGIE #Decarbonization #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #CorporatePPA #ClimateAction #GreenEnergy #EnergyTransition #NetZero #SolarEnergy #GHGReduction #SustainableBusiness #IndustrialInnovation #CleanEnergy
