Planning Consent Granted for Manor Farm Solar Project   We’re delighted to announce that Planning Consent has been officially granted for the Manor Farm Solar Project, a key initiative that marks another significant step forward in our commitment to delivering clean, low-impact energy infrastructure for the UK. Located on 39.1 hectares at Manor Farm, south of Church Lane and west of Raven Lane, Felkirk, Wakefield - with grid connection at the adjacent Monckton Substation - this solar farm will generate up to 30MWac of renewable electricity. That’s enough to power around 11,400 households annually!   Environmental impact sits at the heart of the project: - Expected to displace approximately 28,347 tonnes of CO₂ per year, equivalent to removing roughly 4,844 petrol cars from UK roads. Extensive Biodiversity Net Gain: - 64.40% increase in habitat units - 43.14% increase in hedgerow units - 27.33% increase in watercourse units - Sensitive design features with off-sets from public highways, leisure corridors, and protected structures, in addition to areas specifically dedicated to biodiversity enhancement.   Beyond environmental benefits, Manor Farm Solar is also a positive boost for the local economy: - Substantial direct investment - New construction jobs during build-out, with operational roles to follow - Ongoing local benefits, including approximately £56,600 each year in business rates over the project’s 40-year lifespan   We’re grateful for the expertise, cooperation, and valuable input from our partners, stakeholders, and the local community, all of whom have contributed to making this milestone possible.
