Industrial heat is responsible for nearly 20% of global CO₂ emissions and yet, it continues to be one of the hardest problems to decarbonise. That’s why we’re excited to have led the £1.2 M pre-seed round of Hot Green, a UK startup developing ultra-efficient, low-carbon industrial heat-pump systems to replace fossil-fuel boilers in factories, alongside co-investors Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP), First Imagine! Ventures, The Conduit EIS Impact Fund, and Almanac Ventures Hot Green’s systems lower costs, increase efficiency, and simplify installation; tackling the main barriers to industrial heat pump adoption. With early engagement from major food-and-beverage manufacturers, the company is well positioned to lead the next wave of clean-heat adoption. Congratulations to Georgia Ware, Andrew Anderson, and the HotGreen Solutions team on this milestone, and welcome to the Empirical Ventures portfolio. We lead rounds for the best entrepreneurial scientists and engineers. In the first funding round, the only data point that matters is the talent. The quality of the people in the business and how that talent forms a moat that is hard to replicate. In Georgia Ware and Andrew Anderson we have found the latest founders to join the Empirical Ventures portfolio that fit this mould. Decarbonising F&B by developing drop-in replacements for industrial gas boilers. Payback in 2-years because they focused on the key limitation of current technology - the compressor. Great to have led this round alongside some brilliant co-investors. The next 12 months are going to be 🚀 https://lnkd.in/ebZSwqMA
