The 7-Minute Hard Lesson Fence height: checked. Spiked topping: checked. Deter and Delay intruders: 🤔 Not quite. From a military perspective, using a crane/basket lift to reach the second level, deploying chainsaws to breach the access point, and getting away with high-value assets in under 7 minutes is a bloody well-executed operation. From a security consultant’s perspective, it is a hard lesson learned and a devastating example of systemic failure. This commando-style raid, which exploited an "old building vulnerability" (reportedly near a construction zone), confirms that a layered security strategy is only as strong as its weakest link. Every unfortunate incident is a painful, yet invaluable, lesson in protecting our facilities. Where is the true systemic vulnerability in your organization's defenses? #PhysicalSecurity #RiskManagement #SecurityConsulting #AssetProtection #LessonsLearned

Why DIY security systems often end up costing more than professional ones…🔨 On paper, the $299 DIY kit looks cheaper than a professional system. But here’s what people don’t factor in:🤑 • Missed detection = higher risk of break-ins. • No monitoring = you’re on your own at 2AM. • Limited warranties = you’re paying again when it fails. A break-in costs thousands. Saving a few hundred upfront isn’t really saving. #security #alarmsystem #homesecurity #securitysystem #cctv #surveillance #alarm #securitycamera #accesscontrol #protection

Today, MI5 Director General Sir Ken McCallum gave his latest threat update. He spoke of a new era of multiple overlapping threats, and the need to ‘up our game’, together, to make the UK a hard target. '…whether you’re operating critical infrastructure or investing in cutting-edge tech, there are simple and effective actions you can take to protect yourself, your organisation – and the UK. This is where MI5's National Protective Security Authority, or NPSA, comes in. With decades of experience, NPSA can advise you on protecting your supply chain, your valuable IP, your physical assets, whether the threat is from sabotage, theft or drones.’ He announced that NPSA has today published new online targeting guidance – “Applicant Beware” - which has been designed to help you realise and respond to the threat from online targeting. Familiarise yourself with the guidance now on the NPSA website. https://lnkd.in/eg76GMcK To see the full annual threat speech, visit the MI5 website. https://lnkd.in/evTBsibu #MI5 #NPSA #MI5ThreatUpdate

Sometimes physical security just isn’t enough and many will ask what else they can do to mitigate threats. This all starts with some simple awareness and education on how behaviours and technology work alongside each other and not in isolation.

CNI Under Threat – Time to Act Yesterday, MI5 Director General Sir Ken McCallum warned of a new era of overlapping threats — and called for a collective step-up to make the UK a hard target. If you operate in Critical National Infrastructure, you’re firmly in the spotlight — from cyber threats and insider risks to state-sponsored sabotage. MI5’s NSPA has released new guidance, But guidance alone isn’t enough. Implementing it effectively requires the support of expert, independent integrators who understand both the threat landscape and your operational reality. 🎯 Security isn’t a box-tick. It’s a system. And getting it right protects not just your organisation — but national resilience. 📄 Read the latest guidance: www.npsa.gov.uk #CNI #NationalSecurity #NPSA #InsiderThreat #ocular is#CriticalInfrastructure #SecurityIntegrators #Resilience

Sir Ken McCallum’s update today is a thought provoking reminder that no organisation is too small or too “non-commercial” to be targeted. Charities are a significant part of UK society , trusted, data-rich, and often deeply embedded in local communities. We’ve seen how attackers increasingly look for the weakest link, a supplier, partner, or third-party system. For charities, that could mean a compromised cloud service, an insecure donations platform, or even a well-meaning volunteer with admin access. MI5’s message about the need to “up our game, together” rings especially true here. Building resilience across the sector means understanding where risk sits, not just in your own systems, but across everyone you connect and share data with. If you're reading this and work for a charity (or any sort of organisation), I suggest you have a read of MI5's NPSA and ask yourself, are you really adapting to today's changing landscape, or are you being left behind the curve? 📘 NPSA Guidance: https://lnkd.in/eg76GMcK 🎥 Full MI5 Threat Update: https://lnkd.in/evTBsibu
