Everyone's talking about #KissingBugs: CNN, The New York Times, Newsweek and more. What's creating all the buzz? Last month #UFEPI member Dr. Norman Beatty published a perspective piece in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Emerging Infectious Diseases Journal that discusses how Chagas disease is endemic in the United States. Beatty collaborated with researchers from Texas A&M University, University of California, Berkeley and Texas Department of State Health Services to help map the spread of the insect that carries the disease-causing parasite and the impact of human Chagas disease in the U.S. Dive into what they have discovered: https://lnkd.in/e9HWcGsD.

Our research at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health: Patients with ME/CFS show an overactive innate immune system, mounting stronger responses to bacteria, viruses, and fungi. This prolonged activation may fuel the fatigue and inflammation at the heart of the disease. 📰 Read more in the press release: https://lnkd.in/euABzzMn #MECFS, #CUIMC, Center for Infection and Immunity, Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health

The Disease Triangle 🌱 Plant diseases don’t just happen by chance — they 0ccur when three key factors interact: 📌 Host – a susceptible plant 📌 Pathogen – a disease-causing 0rganism 📌 Environment – favorable conditions for infection If 0ne side of the triangle is missing, disease cannot develop. Managing plant health means breaking this triangle — by using resistant varieties, controlling pathogens, 0r modifying the environment.
